I write to gently encourage you to inquire into the provision of transit and residential sites for Gypsy/Travellers.

As a resident, with no known Gypsy/Traveller heritage,of the Conwy County Borough Council area, I remain deeply concerned about how Gypsy/Travellers accommodation needs are assessed and the enormous amount of knowledge and skill applied to stop legitimate attempts to provide sites.

The media coverage and the lack of kindliness and compassion towards Gypsy/Travellers is distressing to local residents.

Unauthorised sites are used by Gypsy/Travellers because their is very limited provision across Wales. Many Gypsy/Travellers pull up their caravans on family/friends housing sites temporarily, some very reluctantly choose to live temporarily in houses.

The present legislation and actions by local authorities are not addressing the wants and needs of Gypsy/Travellers or the resident population.

Please consider inquiring into this significant issue and the possible reforms required.
